A nice Drift through India and Nepal
________________________________________

On May 6th, 2009 I landed in Mumbai for a 60 day vagabond around India and Nepal.
Cleaning my head out and meeting new people was the focus, but I managed to take
a few photos along the way.

The trip has been seperated out into several galleries. Most of these geographical,
but the black and whites begged for a gallery seperate from all the chaotic color.

The trip never had much of a definite route or itinerary. Only a collection of
places that I had wanted to visit. This kind of flexibility led me to places and
to conversations that I could never plan. Actually, you cant plan much of anything
in India and expect it to work out...

The Ganges gallery deserves its place as a large part of my trip was spent along
its banks. From Varanasi in the oven-like plains, to the Himalayan foothills, I saw
people bathing, praying, eating, and being burnt on this sacred river.

Rajasthan is a desert state that borders Pakistan. As I was there in the summer
the daytime temps were routinely over 110f. I spent several days out in the desert
at a small settlement with a family nice enough to take me in.

Maharashtra is the large central state where Mumbai is situated. Fast, chaotic
travel reflects in the images in this gallery.

Thanks for coming to look.
